First Draft For Double Page Spread Interview

“name” has had a massive success in the music industry this year. After making it big in America he now aims to do the same worldwide by making his new song “name of song” reach the number one spot in the charts. But now it’s time to really get to know “name” personally, here is an interview about his new album, his troublesome start in the industry and future ambitions.

“touring all the major arenas and stadiums in the World”

You had a big set back at the start of your career, how has that helped you today?
Yeah, I was dropped by my first label (Universal Motown). I wasn’t ready for it. I asked myself why am I was sitting waiting for someone to come write a song with me? You know how to play the guitar, do it yourself!

Why do you think you found it difficult to be picked up my labels?
There was a lot of rejection. A lot the labels were saying, ‘You don’t know who you are as an artist. You’re doing, R&B, motown, rock and reggae. How the do we market that? Are you pop or what? Thankfully Epic Records trusted my vision and gave me a shot.

You didn’t start of as a solo artists did you?
Jonathan Drago (President of Epic Records) was always saying to me that I needed a story and that I should be writing songs for people in the studio. At the time I was like, ‘You’re mad. I’m amazing!’ But he was absolutely right.

How has that helped you with becoming the artist you are today?
Being able to be a part of all the business side of the industry helped me to understand radio, understand music videos and what artist I wanted to be, so when my time came, Id already seen how it all happens.

Is your tour around Britain going to promote your new album?
Yeah, I will be going on tour from April to November this year and it will definitely have some of my new songs I want to try out with the fans.

Rumour has it you have a library full of songs you have written but have not released?
Yeah, I like to write songs in my spare time as that’s how I started out. A lot of the songs aren’t necessarily for me but for other artists. A few of them will feature on my new album with other artists such as “name”.

You must get a lot of attention from girls, but is there anyone on the scene at the moment?
(Laughs) No there isn’t anyone on the scene at the moment so I’m just playing the field.

“I’m just playing the field”
What else would you like to do in the near future?
I love singing but I would also like to do something completely different, possibly some acting. There is a lot of things I would like to do when I’m older but I’m only young so I’m not worrying about all that just yet.
